Trip to Ohio and back

We had a fun family vacation this last week. We drove to Purdue University where Dave grew up and visited the places he remembered from when he was a kid. Then we drove to Columbus, Ohio to visit Alan and Marissa who are doing their residency at Ohio State Medical Center. We had a fun time letting the kids run around together in the back yard. It was fun to visit with Alan and Marissa. After staying a few days at their house we drove north to Indiana Dunes Beach. We all loved playing in the sand and water. Then we went to Chicago for the night. In the morning we went to Morton Arboretum. The have a beautiful Childrens Garden and maze. Then drove home. We had a fun trip. There were many things we weren't able to see, so we will have to make another trip sometime. Here are some pictures from our trip.

Father's Day

I have been blessed with the example of two great men in my life.

First, my dad who can fix anything and build anything. We had many rich experiences as children because of him. Not many kids have tasted pigeon eggs, built ice rinks in their backyards, played Native American flutes, or programed their own video games on their Atari 800. He has been a wonderful father and I love him a lot.

Second, Dave who is the love of my life. I got lucky when I met him in the back room of Deseret Book. He is a great catch and all of you ladies should be jealous. He takes great care of our kids. He is so smart. He knows everything you need to know about HDTV antennas, marathon training, counting in binary, analog IC design and baseball.

Happy Birthday

We celebrated Alex's 3rd birthday today. He wanted a "Truck" cake and balloons. We had both and he was a happy kid. Dave came home early because they had a department party and they only had to work a half day. Alex loved his Mac truck the most and after opening it threw his hands up in the air and said "yeah". It was the best reaction I have ever seen to opening a present.

We sure love our little man a lot. He is a sweet brother and takes good care of his sisters. He also is always willing to help. He picks up his toys and will put things in the garbage can if I need some help. He is almost totally potty trained and it was for the most part painless. He is growing up fast into a great little kid.

Happy Birthday Little Man!

We are celebrating Alex's 3rd Birthday today. He actually turns 3 on Tuesday, but we will be in on the road to visit our cousins in Ohio.

So here is to my little guy, whom I love very much...

We will post pictures of the "Truck" party later.

Strawberries

When Dave's Parents came for Sarah's baptism his mom gave me some very cute strawberry fabric that she had left over from a blanket she made for Lily. I got inspired this week and pulled out my sewing machine. It has been a while since I have sewed anything. This was a fun project and I loved having my girls match for Church.

Two Milestones this Week

We had two exciting milestones this week. The first is still a work in progress, but we made contact with the bowl 3 times.

The second is pretty much love at first bite.

Yummy

You take some of this from the garden...

You add some of these from the store...

You mix it with lots of this white stuff...

And you get this....
